Seoul, South Korea December 18 2003-- US-based door lock and security companies will soon have a technologically advanced door key system at their disposal, if Younghee Hur, the young female CEO of Euro Electronics Co., Ltd. has anything to say about it.
After 3 years and $1.7M in R&D, the cellular phone-recognizing door lock ‘Anykey’ that Euro Electronics Co., Ltd. has developed is the system which is unlocked automatically by placing a cellular phone SIM card loaded in front of the door lock. Smart card(IC Chip loaded) and cellular phone (SIM card loaded) are the ‘keys’ for ‘Anykey’.
After a simple installation and registration, the cards can be used to open any equipped door. If the cards or cellular phone registered is lost, the registered ID can quickly be changed to prevent unauthorized use. Furthermore, there are 3 types of smart card as key of ‘Anykey’- Credit card-sized, half-sized of credit card and sticker type.
Basically in using ‘Anykey’, door is locked automatically when door is closed and if outsider tries to open door by force, alarm will ring. Also it is very easy to enter and exit by one motion with push & pull type handle. The push & pull type handle is patented and different from conventional type which you need two motions - rotating handle and pulling/pushing handle for entrance and exit.
‘Anykey’ was awarded ‘Good Design 2003’ prize sponsored by Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy and awarded ‘KT mark (Excellent Korea Technology)’ sponsored by Ministry of Science and Technology in Korea. Meanwhile Euro Electronics Co., Ltd. was invested by KTBnetwork, Korea's first and largest venture capital firm.
Euro Electronics Co., Ltd. participated in the Korea Electronic Show 2003, the biggest IT fair held in Korea and in ITU Telecom World 2003, the largest telecommunication fair held in Geneva, Switzerland. ‘Anykey’ was received well by customers, media and visitors during both fairs. Also Euro Electronics Co., Ltd. is cooperating with KTF(Korea Telecom Freetel), one of the largest mobile communication company in Korea and is already received orders from large construction companies. Tens of thousands of customers are already using ‘Anykey’ door lock. Taking this opportunity, we will advance abroad and will focus on export in the world.
