Osaka, Japan -- Unsigned, San Francisco based, artist Cousin Isaac is taking his new song entitled "DOOR TO DOOR" literally. By going door to door, Cousin Isaac is developing a new indie distribution model: d2d.
Cousin Isaac has been going door to door with CD's in hand, promoting his music to record stores so they will order product directly from his website ( http://cousinisaac.com ) By offering his fans free t-shirts and the like if they help promote his music to stores as well, Cousin Isaac hopes to build a truly independent distribution network.
Inspired by his own song, "DOOR TO DOOR," a wry, airwave-ready pop track about door to door evangelism, Cousin Isaac started going door to door while in Japan, where he is currently recording his new album "PREPARE FOR DEPARTURE" due out in this year's fourth quarter.
"It all started when I came across a record store chain here called Jet Set records- I had to introduce myself. They were very receptive, even though I barely spoke the language. So I did the same thing when I went to Seoul. Speaking zero Korean made it tricky."
Language barriers non-withstanding, Cousin Isaac is wasting no time getting his music out worldwide- "from Seoul to Little Rock," (pun intended) to see if he can't build his own distribution network before taking his upcoming CD to distributors.
